The Valär Family

The Swiss still hold a fine tradition of conscription of all males for military training. Because of their sizable citizen militia they have been able to avoid being in a war since the 1800's. Many Valärs have served in the Swiss Military. Oli Valär is currently serving his one year of service now. Some interesting family heirlooms have come from service, including a sword and pistol dating from the first world war, used by Christian Valär.
